    Charcoal ChickenToum (Garlic Sauce)

Founded in Granville in 1998, this Lebanese-style charcoal chicken specialist is a Western Sydney icon and Australia's most successful charcoal chicken chain. It has earned a cult following specifically for its addictive garlic sauce, 'Toum', and focuses primarily on takeaway and casual dining. In the early days, the brand focused solely on charcoal chicken to maximise efficiency without a complex menu, building a loyal fanbase with their house-made sauces. It has since grown from a subculture favourite to a mainstream powerhouse, now operating 51 stores across NSW, VIC, and the ACT. In November 2025, it was sold to US private equity firm General Atlantic for approximately A$800M (with the founders and CEO retaining a stake), marking its transition from a local brand to a national chain with international potential.

    Fabbrica Pasta Shop

161 King St, Sydney NSW 2000
Spaghetti Cacio e PepeTonnarelli with Lamb Ragù

A pasta shop and deli from the Love Tilly Group. Located in the CBD, they sell fresh handmade pasta by weight and offer a selection of simple Italian dishes. This is the original flagship of the Fabbrica Pasta Bar series. Fabbrica means 'factory' in Italian. True to its name, a pasta extruder sits at the heart of the shop, producing various traditional Italian pasta shapes in-house. While it started as a pasta factory, deli, and takeaway shop, the CBD location has evolved into a full-service pasta shop, restaurant, and wine bar where you can sit down for a proper meal and a glass of wine. As part of the Love Tilly Group, it shares a stable with Ragazzi Wine + Pasta, Love Tilly Devine, Dear Sainte Éloise, Palazzo Salato, and Letra House. Given the group’s strong focus on natural and small-batch wines, minimal-intervention Italian wines are just as central to the Fabbrica experience as the pasta itself.

Located on George Street in the Sydney CBD, Five Guys is the famous burger chain that started in Virginia, USA, in 1986. A fast-casual restaurant that prides itself on never using freezers or microwaves, it serves customisable burgers, hot dogs, fries, and milkshakes made to order with fresh ingredients. Founded by Jerry and Janie Murrell, the name 'Five Guys' refers to their five sons who joined the business. Following the 2021 opening of Australia's first store in Penrith, this second location opened on June 6, 2022, in the CBD. The restaurant is housed in the historic Spiden House and features the brand's signature red-and-white interior. Customers can customise their burgers with over 15 free toppings, allowing for more than 250,000 possible combinations. The fries are cooked in 100% peanut oil and always come with an extra 'topper' scoop in the bag. You can also personalise your milkshakes with various mix-ins. Everything is cooked fresh to order using high-quality ingredients. While a typical meal including a burger, fries, and a drink costs around AU$25–$35—which some find pricey for fast food—many agree the quality and freshness make it worth the spend.
