    PlainPain au Chocolat

Tucked away in Rialto Lane just behind The Corso in Manly, Rollers Bakehouse is a bakery cafe offering a unique pastry experience centered around the croissant. The space draws inspiration from 90s hip-hop and Palm Springs design, featuring a modern Californian architectural style. Here, classic French pastry techniques meet bold, complex flavor profiles. More than just a bakery, Rollers aims for an American-style concept where coffee and pastries pair perfectly, serving as a vibrant community hub for the Manly locals. Rollers Bakehouse was founded in 2018 by James Sideris. He created the bakery in collaboration with Bo Hinzack of Showbox Coffee Brewers (who is also the founder of Butter Boy Bake). Sideris had been supplying baked goods to Hinzack’s cafe for years and has nurtured a passion for baking since high school. Rather than strictly following traditional French bakery rules, Rollers Bakehouse reinterprets pastries in its own way to create entirely new flavor profiles. The interior is decorated with breeze blocks and succulents to create a poolside Palm Springs vibe, complemented by a 90s soundtrack that adds to the unique atmosphere. There is also outdoor seating available, perfect for enjoying a pastry and coffee under the Manly sun. They offer a variety of croissants and coffee alongside daily changing specials, using beans from Sydney-based Okay Coffee. When we visited, some items sold out early, so if there's something you particularly want, we recommend going early. While they don't offer gluten-free or vegan croissants, there are gluten-free and vegan granola options available.
