Regina La Pizzeria
📋 Information
Located in Wunderlich Lane, Regina La Pizzeria is a contemporary Italian restaurant showcasing a diverse range of pizza styles and handmade pastas. By blending traditional Italian recipes with modern techniques, they offer a truly unique dining experience. Most notably, they house Australia’s first Fazzone oven, allowing them to serve three distinct pizza styles: wood-fired, padellino (pan-baked), and fritta (fried).
The dough features a high hydration level and undergoes a long, low-temperature fermentation process, resulting in a light, airy texture that is incredibly easy to digest. Regina La Pizzeria holds the distinction of being the only venue in Sydney to be awarded the prestigious 'Tre Spicchi' (3 slices) — the highest rating — in the 2026 Gambero Rosso Pizzerie d'Italia guide. Furthermore, Head Pizzaiolo Matteo Ernandes was named 'One to Follow' at The Best Pizza Awards 2026.
The 85-seat space harmonises mid-century Italian aesthetics with modern design, featuring a cream and emerald interior, checkered floors, and an open pizza kitchen where you can watch the magic happen. The wine list, curated by LuMi Dining co-owner Michela Boncagni, focuses on organic and sustainable drops, alongside a selection of Italian-inspired cocktails.

✍️ Editor's Review
This is easily one of the best pizza spots in Sydney. The dough is remarkably soft yet chewy, giving it a texture that really stands out. While the pan-fried pizza didn't quite live up to my expectations, the signature Vitti is an absolute must-try. The combination of the pillowy dough, zucchini cream, and stracciatella cheese is simply superb.
