Opal card & contactless in Sydney

Tap on at the start of every trip and tap off at the end. The F1 Manly ferry is the exception: no tap off is needed.

Use the same card or device all week so your trips count towards the caps. Don't switch between your phone and the physical card.

Adult Opal and eligible contactless payments have the same adult fares and benefits, so neither is automatically cheaper.

The Sydney Airport station access fee is not included in these caps.

Concession fares need their own eligibility and card setup; a credit card does not apply a discount automatically.
