🛍️ Essential Market Guide
Paddington Markets (Sat 10am–4pm)
Oxford St, Paddington. A Sydney icon since 1973. It’s the place to go for Australian designer jewellery, handcrafted leather goods, and art prints. Don’t forget to explore the surrounding galleries and cafes along Paddington’s leafy streets.
Glebe Markets (Sat 10am–4pm)
Held at Glebe Public School. This local favourite is famous for its vintage clothes, second-hand vinyl, and handmade accessories. It’s a hit with the locals, so prices stay reasonable.
The Rocks Markets (Sat–Sun 10am–5pm)
George St, The Rocks. Boasting an incredible location with Harbour Bridge views. It’s perfect for souvenir shopping, offering everything from Indigenous art and handmade soaps to unique bush spices.
Bondi Markets (Sun 9am–1pm)
Bondi Beach Public School. Just a 5-minute stroll from the sand. Expect plenty of surf-inspired vintage gear, artisanal jewellery, and works by local artists. Perfect for a browse before a walk along Bondi Beach.
Carriageworks Farmers Market (Sat 8am–1pm)
Eveleigh, near Redfern. Sydney’s premier farmers market. You’ll find organic veggies, artisan cheeses, gourmet sausages, freshly baked bread, and local coffee. It’s so good even the city’s top chefs do their shopping here.
Marrickville Markets (Sun 8am–2pm, 3rd & 4th week of the month)
Marrickville Road. A multicultural foodie heaven. Enjoy affordable street food from around the globe, including Vietnamese pho, Greek pastries, and Turkish gozleme.
Kirribilli Markets (4th Saturday of the month)
Near Milsons Point, right under the Harbour Bridge. Specialising in vintage and handmade goods, this is the only market where you can shop with a direct view of the Opera House.
Sydney Fish Market (Daily)
Pyrmont. The largest seafood market in the Southern Hemisphere. Pick out fresh seafood and have it prepared on the spot. Saturday mornings are the most vibrant, and their 24-hour marathon sale at Christmas is legendary.
